It’s hard to believe that in the 70s the Houston Heights was considered to be a low income area of the city. The area has experienced a “gentrification” since about 1990 and today it is one of the spots to be for young highly paid Houston professionals. This staging project really reflects the young spirit and can do attitude that exists in the Heights circa 2014.
This beautiful home is located on 412 Aurora, just off 610 and North Main St., 4 beds, 4 bathrooms, 3,612 sq ft, priced at just over $1 million. I had a blast staging this house, let’s take a look at the pictures.
What does every young professional in the Heights need to take over the world? A beautiful, airy, office nook. Sometimes, as a stager, you are gifted these extra rooms (wings) that can go many different ways. I’m always tempted to let my imagination run wild with these freebies, but in the end my goal is to stage the house so that it is most useful and appealing to prospective buyers…hence, this awesome office space.
This kitchen is highly characteristic of the Heights…fresh, contemporary, utilitarian. Note the double stacked ovens on the right hand side. I could do some serious work in a kitchen like this…on second thought…I could watch Champ do some serious work in a kitchen like this.
I love how the island adds so much useable counter space, and I love how the stove top allows you to face your guests while you are cooking. This really a communal kitchen and I think it helps to bring family time back to meal time.
I love how the kitchen flows right into the living space. So many times, when I stage homes, I picture the family and friends gathered on Thanksgiving Day. Some of us are in the kitchen helping to cook, or munching on some pre-turkey snacks while sharing a laugh, and some of the more lame individuals are watching Dallas lose to Detroit…again.
This open kitchen and living room is built for entertaining friends and family.
Bathrooms and Kitchens sale the home, and this house knocks it out of the park on those fronts. Check out this master bath.
This house had so much to offer a home stager, even a salt water pool / outdoor space.
It’s good to be a young professional in the Houston Heights. What do you think of this staging project?
